Tasting notes

Moscato d’Asti Erik shines with a brilliant straw-yellow color and golden highlights. The perlage is fine and persistent, offering a pleasing tactile sensation on the palate.

The aroma is a sophisticated blend of typical Moscato characteristics—musky, sage, and white flowers—enhanced by aging notes like ripe yellow fruit, apricot, and vanilla.

The taste surprises with a pleasant sweetness balanced by a distinct acidity, and the wine's persistent finish reveals mineral and savory notes.

Food pairing

Dogliotti 1870's Moscato d’Asti Erik is an excellent choice for a wide range of occasions, from sophisticated aperitifs to pairing with intricate desserts, fresh pastries, and even rich, spicy cheeses.

This wine's unique profile also makes it suitable for accompanying a broad spectrum of dishes beyond typical dessert pairings, including delicate appetizers and subtly flavored main courses.

Moscato d’Asti Erik DOCG

A Masterpiece of Innovation and Tradition

Dogliotti 1870's flagship Moscato d’Asti Erik represents the pinnacle of innovation in the Moscato d’Asti category, blending traditional winemaking techniques with a unique aging process that sets it apart from typical representations of this varietal.

Made exclusively from the finest handpicked clusters from the historical family vineyard at Annunziata in Castagnole delle Lanze, Moscato d’Asti Erik is Dogliotti's flagship wine, a product of meticulous craftsmanship and patient aging.

Exceptional Vinification Process

The production of Moscato d’Asti Erik begins with the careful selection of Moscato Bianco grapes, known for their intense aromatic qualities. After gentle pressing, the must is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it undergoes a slow fermentation process at temperatures around 1-2 degrees Celsius.

This extended contact with the grape skins, lasting about 20 days, enhances the extraction of flavors and aromas, ensuring a richer and more complex profile.

Following this, the juice is methodically pressed and divided; half is moved to new stainless steel tanks for cold storage, while the other half is transferred to oak barrels where it ages for at least 12 months.

Innovative Aging and Bottling

What sets Moscato d’Asti Erik apart is its aging process. After a year in steel and oak, the wine is bottled and then undergoes a significant bottle aging period of at least 60 months.

This extensive aging in a combination of stainless steel and oak, followed by prolonged bottle aging, allows the wine to develop a complexity and depth uncharacteristic of typical Moscato d’Asti.

The bottles used are thicker than average to withstand the lengthy aging, and the corks are specially sourced from Sardinia, known for producing high-quality corks, to ensure the wine's longevity and quality during this period.
